Theme of the stamp

The Prague stamp, which shows the statue of St. Wenceslas against the background of the National Museum. The original stamp, in the Castles, Landscapes, Towns series, was based on a watercolour by Jaroslav Šetelík. The issue of the original stamp was timed to coincide with the millenium of St. Wenceslas. An unusual feature is that the engraving was not entrusted to Karel Seizinger, as in the other stamps of the series, but to the French engraver Abel Mignon. The stamp booklet with 8 stamps and 4 coupons with logo of the National Stamp Exhibition Brno 2000 will be issued in the same time.

Method of printing

rotary recess print in dark blue combined with photogravure in red, light green and gold
